This was made for my sister and my new brother-in-law. These invitations began as a wine and olive theme but after some wedding planning they became a honey/honeybee theme with all new colors and direction. I ended up going through loads of entomology books and older clipart books looking for the right be, but in the end I ended up reconstructing the bees from one I saw somewhere. Drawing and tracing and then scanning and photoshopping and printing and putting to use my scherenschnitte skills, before scanning again and making it vector in illustrator.
